Insendium 2.0 is being held as a phase two for Insendium 1.0 held on April 1 st to April 2 nd , 2016 which was attended by over 60 students selected from the 150 applications received. Startup i3 22-24 July 2016
The start up i3 is the platform for students to express their innovative ideas in a group. Brain storming the ideas in a group will help the students to ascertain whether their idea is viable or not. The mentoring sessions is made in such a way that the best ideas will be taken from the group. Innovative ideas will be shown the best path as to how well the same can be executed. More
Two day Workshop INSENDIUM 1-2 April 2016
2 Day programme called “Insendium” is organized for the students of St. Joseph’s College of Engineering & Technology, Palai. The main objective of the programme was to ignite the student’s creative thinking.
In the first day Dr. Jippu Joseph delivered a talk on “Innovation through Nature” followed by ice breaking session by Prof. Babusankar . Second day started with Prof. Sherin Sam Jose, delivered a talk on Innovation & You followed by a session Keep It Simple and Stupid (KISS) by Prof. Babusankar
Two Day Workshop on Internet Of Things (IoT)04-05 March 2016
The Internet of Things(IoT) is upon us! Connected Products are everywhere, and companies like the newly Google-acquired Nest are bringing the IoT to our home. The aim of the workshop was to equip the faculties to realize their IoT ideas and builds devices as part of a collaborative build-a-thon. . Through this hands-on development workshop, novice or experienced IoT developers will assemble a Sensor Node using a variety of connected devices, a variety of sensors and a monitoring application built on an IoT Platform. Attendees will be able to choose between two tracks, hardware-minded developers can dive right into the Connectivity Track and get their hands dirty, while application developers on our App Track can build apps to leverage the firehose of data flowing in.
Workshop was scheduled for two days in 9 sessions. The Workshop was opened by Mrs. Smitha Jacob, Head of the Department of Computer Science & Engineering on the morning of 4 March 2016. This was followed by an introductory statement by Rev.Fr. Mathew Koramkuzha, Manager, SJCET Palai, who mentioned the gap between industry and academics and stressed the importance of filling up this gap. After his statement, the newly purchased IoT Components were handed over to Mrs. Smitha Jacob by Dr. C.J Joseph, Principal, SJCET Palai & Mr. Abhilash ST, fellow, Kerala Startup Mission.
The workshop was handled by Mr. Akshai M & Mr. Abhilash ST, Fellows of Kerala Startup Mission. There were 29 participants from Computer Science & Engineering, Applied Electronics & Instrumentation, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering and Master of Computer Applications departments.
Three Day Workshop on Universal App Development for Windows10 19-21 February 2016
There are a lot of opportunities and offers from Microsoft for students which most of our students are unaware about. The aim of the workshop has been bridging this gap and to make our students enjoy the best of them. Windows 10 represents the culmination of our platform convergence journey with Windows now running on a single, unified Windows core. This convergence enables one app to run on every Windows device – on the phone in your pocket, the tablet or laptop in your bag, the PC on your desk, and the Xbox console in your living room.
Workshop was scheduled for three days. The 3-day workshop gave the students the required knowledge to start developing these Universal Windows apps. They learned about adaptive and responsive UI, Process Lifetime Management, Tiles and Notifications, background tasks, and networking to name but a few. After this workshop, students felt enough confident about developing a universal app for any Windows system. The workshop covered both foundational concepts needed to understand Universal Windows Apps as well ways of combining this knowledge into developing real life applications.
The workshop was handled by Mr. Mohammed Ramees P, Founder of Microsoft Developer Community Kerala and Fellow of Kerala Startup Mission. There were 35 participants from Second and Third year Computer Science & Engineering department. He also discussed about the various Microsoft sponsored events and benefits of student participation in it.

Impressario 1.0 -Three day hands on workshop on Entrepreneurship & Management jointly organized by Academy of Entrepreneurship management (AEM) and SJCET Startup Bootcamp on 14th -16th of September 2015. Totally 60 students participated from B.Tech and MBA courses.

In connection with Cynosure 2015 held on September 17-19, 2015 , SJCET Startup Bootcamp conducted an ideathone competion on 26th July 2015. The selected ideas were funded by college.

SJCET Startup Bootcamp Inauguration 9th March 2015
As part of promoting the entrepreneurship culture among students, the St. Joseph’s College of Engineering and Technology, Palai (SJCET PALAI), in association with Startup Village and the Kerala Government, has decided to set up a Startup Boot Camp at the college. The “Boot Camp” inauguration function organized by our college on the 9th of march, 2015. Mr. Sreerag Dileep, the Manager of Start-Up Village gave the inaugural speech wherein he spoke about the details and overview of the boot camp.
Mr. Amarnath Sankar gave a talk about the topic “Lets your Dreams get incubated’ in which he shared his experience as an entrepreneur and how he overcame all the difficult times.
